O ex-Beatle se juntou a noiva Nancy Shevell, que irão se casar em breve, e sua filha Stella.
A estrela Sarah Jessica Parker do seriado Sex And The City e Liv Tyler também participaram da abertura no Lincoln Centrer de Nova York.
Falando antes da estréia, Sir Paul admitiu que se sentiu "calmamente confiante e nervoso" sobre como a produção seria aceita. "Eu tinha visto o grande balés tradicionais, como O Lago dos Cisnes e O Quebra-Nozes, mas eu tinha um conhecimento muito limitado de ballet ", disse à Press Association.
"Mas desde que eu tomei conhecimento desse projeto, obviamente, fui ver Giselle recentemente em Londres e fui atropelado pela força física dos dançarinos.
"No dia seguinte eu tentei fazer um dos passos e falhei miseravelmente, o que me deu uma nova admiração pelos dançarinos."
É a primeira vez que o ex-Beatle escreve um musical original para a dança.

Speaking ahead of the premiere, Sir Paul admitted that he felt “quietly confident and nervous” about how the production would be accepted."I'd seen the great traditional ballets like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, but I had a very limited knowledge of ballet,” he told the Press Association.
"But since this project I've obviously started to take notice - I went to see Giselle recently in London and was bowled over by the sheer athleticism of the dancers.
"The next day I tried to do one of the steps and failed dismally, which gave me a new admiration for the dancers."
It is the first time the former Beatles star has written an original orchestral score for dance.
