Em 01 de junho de 2011 às 15:00 BST (11:00 BRASÍLIA) Ringo Starr e sua All Starr Band está convidando fãs ao redor do mundo para se juntar a eles on-line para uma conferência de imprensa ao vivo e performance especial.
Depois de uma performance musical curta, Ringo Starr vai apresentar os membros da sua All Starr Band que se preparam para embarcar em uma turnê Europeu de 2011.

Ringo Starr, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Rick Derringer, Richard Page, Wally Palmar e Gregg Bissonette, então, responderão às perguntas da mídia. Os fãs também terão a oportunidade de enviar perguntas por meio de uma sala de bate-papo na www.muzu.tv / ringostarr. A conferência de imprensa vai acabar às 15:45.

A turnê 28, que começa em 04 de junho, é a mais extensa turnê europeia iniciada por Ringo e sua All Starr Band. Com shows na Ucrânia, Rússia, Suécia, Noruega, Dinamarca, Letónia, Polónia, Grã-Bretanha, França, República Checa, Itália, Holanda, Alemanha e Áustria, a turnê terá Ringo realizando shows em diversos países, pela primeira vez. E no Reino Unido pela primeira vez desde 1998.

Além de abrir o evento para o público on-line, dois fãs também terão a oportunidade de assistir à conferência de imprensa ao vivo através de uma  competição em MUZU.TV

On June 1^st 2011 at 15:00 BST Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band will be inviting fans around the world to join them online for a live press conference and special performance.

Following a short musical performance, Ringo Starr will introduce the members of his All Starr Band as they prepare to embark on their 2011 European tour.

Ringo Starr, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Rick Derringer, Richard Page, Wally Palmar and Gregg Bissonette will then answer questions from the media. Fans will also have the opportunity to submit questions via a chat facility on www.muzu.tv/ringostarr. The press conference will end at 15:45.

The twenty eight date tour, which begins on June 4^th, is the most extensive European tour undertaken by Ringo and His All Starr Band. With concerts in Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Poland, Britain, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Holland, Germany and Austria the tour will see Ringo performing in several countries for the first time. It is also Ringo’s first UK tour since 1998.

In addition to opening the event to the online audience, two fans will also have the opportunity to attend the press conference in person by entering a competition on MUZU.TV

Aniversário do Mal Evans/ Mal Evans' Birthday

Mal Evans era um grande cara com um coração ainda maior, a sua alcunha era o Gentle Giant. Ele também era um homem muito tímido. Evans estava trabalhando como técnico de comunicações para os Correios, em 1962, quando ele ouviu pela primeira vez os Beatles se apresentar no Cavern Club de Liverpool. Ele se tornou amigo da banda e logo foi contratado como roadie. Ele gostava de trabalhar com os Beatles e fazer filmes e música com eles. Apesar de surdo, ele contribuiu para muitas gravações dos Beatles, emprestando sua voz para "Yellow Submarine ", tocando órgão Hammond em "You Won't See Me", contando as medidas nos intervalos da música "A Day in the Life" (Evans também foi um dos cinco pianistas simultâneo a bater o último acorde da canção), gaita em "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!", pandeiro em "Dear Prudence", trompete em "Helter Skelter", e backing vocals em "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)" e a faixa inédita "What's The New Mary Jane". No filme Let It Be, Evans também pode ser visto tocar o bigorna durante as primeiras versões do "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" de Paul McCartney, embora ele não tenha tocado na gravação.
  Ele era motorista dos Beatles, guarda costa, gerente de equipamentos e amigo. Ele arrumava as coisas coisas para os shows e amava todas as meninas gritando nos primeiros dias. Ele passava as férias com os caras e não gostou da despedida também. Não foi uma coisa tão boa para o Mal como se ele conseguisse dizer quando ele bebia e havia algumas brigas.

Quando os Beatles sairam em turnê em 1966, Evans continuou a ser amigos da banda e a trabalhar com eles no estúdio. Em 1968, Evans descobriu a banda Badfinger (então conhecido como The Iveys) e apresentá-los para os Beatles, que acabaram assinando com a Apple Records.

Mal Evans foi baleado e morto pela polícia de Los Angeles em 05 de janeiro de 1976, quando a polícia por engano pensava que a pistola que ele estava segurando um revólver era real.
 

Mal Evans was a big guy with an Even bigger heart, his nick name was The Gentle Giant. He was also a very shy man. Evans was working as a communications technician for the Post Office in 1962 when he first heard the Beatles perform at Liverpool's Cavern Club. He eventually became friends with the band, and was soon hired as roadie. He love working with the Beatles, and making movies and music with them. Though tone deaf he contributed to many Beatles recordings, lending his voice to "Yellow Submarine", playing the Hammond organ on "You Won't See Me", counting off the measures in the breaks of the song "A Day in the Life", (Evans was also one of the five piano players simultaneously hitting the last chord of the song), harmonica on "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!", tambourine on "Dear Prudence ", trumpet on "Helter Skelter", and background vocals on "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) " and the unreleased track "What's The New Mary Jane ". In the Let It Be film, Evans can also be seen playing the anvil during early versions of Paul McCartney's "Maxwell's Silver Hammer ", although he did not play it on the actual recording.

He was The Beatles' driver, body guard, equipment manger and friend. He got things set up for the shows and loved all the screaming girls in the early days. He went on holidays with the guys and did quite a bit of parting as well. Not such a good thing for Mal as he would get mean when he drank and there were a few fights.

When the Beatles quit touring in 1966, Evans continued to be friends with the band and to work with them in the studio.In 1968, Evans discovered the band Badfinger (then known as The Iveys) and introduced them to the Beatles, who eventually signed them to Apple Records.

Mal Evans was shot and killed by the Los Angeles police on January 5, 1976, when the police mistakenly thought that the air pistol he was holding was an actual revolver.

Rocking in Rio

"Estar no Rio foi fantástico desde o minuto em que pousamos. As multidões ao redor do hotel eram bananas! Eles estavam loucos e então construíram o  construído até fazermos os shows. Eu amo o Brasil. Adoro o fato de que eles amam a música, é um povo muito musical. Adoro música, adoro música, por isso é uma ligação natural.Fãs de todas as idades estavam nos shows. Havia uma base enorme de fãs jovens, o que eu amo e também seus pais e até mesmo seus avós, por isso essa grande envergadura. O entusiasmo pela minha música é inimaginável. Então, todos nós da banda tivemos um tempo fantástico e nós queremos agradecer aos fãs por fazer tudo tão excitante.

Apesar de fazer 'Hey Jude' quando eu entreguei ao público para cantar o 'na na na na's "de repente o público levantou estes sinais. Foi uma coisa visual. Foi muito emocionante, porque os fãs tinha ido a todos os problemas que isso. Ele podiam apenas ter vindo ao show e assisti-lo, mas todos eles se comunicadram antes de sua disposição para tornar o momento especial acontecer. Eles estão conectados uns com os outros, e então ligados com a gente e toda a tripulação. Todos se sentiam ligados. Foi muito emocionante e emocional ao ver que as pessoas se preocupam tanto. "


O Concerto de Paul, no domingo 22 de maio foi transmitido ao vivo pela internet pelo Terra na América Latina. Ele gentilmente nos emprestou as fitas para que qualquer pessoa que não teve a sorte de assistir ao vivo ainda vai ter a chance de ver o show incrível!

"Being in Rio was fantastic from the minute we landed. The crowds around the hotel were bananas! They were just crazy and then it built and built until we did the shows. I love Brazil. I love the fact that they love music, it is a very musical nation. I love music, they love music, so it's a natural connection. The fans were of all ages at the shows. There was a huge young fanbase, which i love, and then there was their parents and even their grandparents, so it is s a great spread. The enthusiasm for my music was just mind blowing. So all of us in the band had a fantastic time and we thank the fans for making it all so exciting.

Whilst doing 'Hey Jude' when I handed over to the audience to sing the 'na na na na's' suddenly the audience produced these signs. It was such a visual thing. It was very emotional because the fans had gone to all that trouble. They could have just come to the show and watched it but they all communicated before hand to make the special moment happen. They connected with each other, then connected with us and the entire crew. Everyone felt connected. It was very exciting and emotional to see that people care so much."


Paul's concert on Sunday 22nd May was broadcast live over the internet by Terra in Latin America. They have kindly lent us the tapes so that anyone who was not lucky enough to watch it live will still get the chance to see the amazing show!

O Beatle Ringo Starr pede desculpa pelos comentários sobre Liverpool/Beatle Ringo Starr apologises for Liverpool comments

O ex-Beatle, que está iniciando uma turnê pelo Reino Unido, incluindo um show Liverpool Empire, disse que não achava que ele tinha ofendido os Scousers com suas observações de 2.008 .

"Peço desculpas a essas pessoas (que se sentiram ofendidas), contanto que eles vivam em Liverpool, e não fora", disse Starr uma entrevista à BBC.

"Nenhum Scouser recebeu como ofensa, eu acredito apenas que as pessoas de fora."

Starr, 70 anos, que tem casas em Los Angeles, Inglaterra e Mônaco, fez os comentários na BBC One Show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, em janeiro de 2008.

Seguiu o seu desempenho na Liverpool 8, na abertura do Capital Europeia da Cultura do ano em Liverpool, com as palavras "Liverpool eu te deixei mas nunca te decepcionei".

Perguntado pelo apresentador se ele perdeu algo na cidade, Starr riu. Ross perguntou-lhe se havia algo que ele perdeu, para a qual o baterista respondeu ", não ...", embora ele dissesse que amava a cidade como ela era, onde ele cresceu e onde sua família estavam.

Seus comentários foram recebidos com raiva por algumas pessoas em Merseyside e uma escultura de folhagem do baterista na estação Liverpool South Parkway foi decapitada por vândalos três meses depois,e as esculturas dos três outros Beatles permaneceram intocadas.

Questionado sobre a ofensa causada pelas observações de três anos atrás, Starr disse à BBC que  Liverpool ainda era muito importante para ele.

Ele disse: "Eu fui criado lá, fui para a escola lá, toda a minha infância, minha juventude foi lá.

"É bobagem que alguém tenha se ofendido."

Antiga casa Starr em Madryn Street, Toxteth, está atualmente sob a ameaça de demolição, no âmbito dos planos de recuperação, apesar de existir uma campanha para salvá-la.

"No fundo eu acho que deveria ficar", disse ele.

"Você sabe, por causa do impacto que os Beatles tiveram em Liverpool, as pessoas vêm para ver - e eles devem ver - de onde viemos.

"A única coisa que eu quero, se salvarem minha casa na 9 Madryn Street, é que ela fica onde está, porque havia um boato de que iriam derrubá-la e colocá-la em outro lugar, no que eu pensei que realmente não significa nada.

 "The ex-Beatle, who is starting a UK tour including a Liverpool Empire gig, said he did not think he had offended Scousers with his 2008 remarks.

"I apologise to those people (who were offended), as long as they live in Liverpool, not outside," Starr told a BBC interview.

"No real Scouser took offence, only I believe people from the outside."

Starr, 70, who has homes in Los Angeles, England and Monaco, made the comments on BBC One show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in January 2008.

Sculpture beheaded

It followed his performance of Liverpool 8 at the opening of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture year, which has the words "Liverpool I left you but I never let you down".

Asked by the presenter what he missed most about the city, Starr laughed. Ross asked him if there was anything he missed, to which the drummer replied "er, no...", though he went on to say he loved the city as it was where he grew up and where his family were.


His comments were greeted with anger from some people in Merseyside and a foliage sculpture of the drummer at Liverpool South Parkway station was beheaded by vandals three months later, with the sculptures of the three other Beatles left untouched.

Asked about the offence caused by the remarks three years ago, Starr told the BBC that Liverpool was still very important to him.

He said: "I was brought up there, I went to school there, all my childhood, my youth was there.

"It's silly that whoever took offence took offence."

Starr's former home in Madryn Street, Toxteth, is currently under threat of demolition as part of regeneration plans, though there is a campaign to save it.

"Deep down I think it should stay," he said.

"You know, because of the impact the Beatles had on Liverpool, that people come to see - and they should see - where we came from.

"The only thing I want, if they save my house 9 Madryn Street, is that it stays where it is because there was a rumour that they were going to knock it down and put it up somewhere else, which I thought doesn't really mean anything."
