The original owner of the vintage Vox UL730 amp and cabinet was only recently discovered when an engineer tasked with fixing it noticed the name “George Harrison” scratched into the chassis. Further research confirmed that the amp indeed was once owned by Harrison. He may have been known as the “Quiet Beatle,” but he certainly wasn’t quiet when playing though a cranked Vox amp!
“Very few amps used by the Beatles have come to auction before, and to find one that was used on two such significant albums is truly rare and exciting,” says Stephen Maycock, a consultant to Bonhams.
Other items of note up for sale include the original album cover artwork by Robert Brownjohn for the Rolling Stones album ‘Let It Bleed,’ which is expected to sell for more than $60,000, and a Martin acoustic guitar previously owned by Eric Clapton that is expected to fetch upwards of $45,000.

Dois concertos acontecerão em Liverpool depois de marcar o 10 º aniversário da morte de George Harrison.

Other guest performers will include Jeff Slate, The Mersey Beatles, Singh Strings, The Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra, The Rebels, Tsema and Andre Barreau from The Bootleg Beatles.
Fans are also being invited to call in at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral for a special ceremony and asked to bring a "paper flower or dove or another symbol of peace or love with perhaps the words of a prayer or lines from one of George's many tunes."

It’s a treat for Beatles fans in New York City.
Throughout the month of December, The Beatles: Hidden Gallery, will be on display at Carnegie Hall.
The project is composed of more than 30 recently discovered images of the iconic rock group, shot in 1963 and 1964 – just as the young band was on its way to stardom.
The exhibit is open to ticketed audience members for all events in Zankel Hall, Carnegie’s newest venue, through December 17.
In addition, the Hidden Gallery is open to the public on four consecutive Saturdays in November and December from 10:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Admission is free, with tickets available at the box office beginning at 10 a.m. each Saturday.

Uma vinícula de New York City lançará um evento único para lembrar George Harrison nesta terça-feira - uma prova de vinhos à música.
O emparelhamento do vinho George Harrison, como estão chamando, acontece terça-feira no 10º aniversário de sua morte. Ele contará com sete diferentes "voôs" com vinhos emparelhadso com três músicas Harrison a cada rodada. A música gravada será reproduzida através sistema de som da vinícola para acompanhar a degustação.
Notas em cada mesa vão dizer a intenção da adega se sentir a cada voô do vinho com o conjunto particular de canções, permitindo aos participantes a refletir sobre seu trabalho através de cada vinho. New York City's City Winery has come up with a unique event to remember George Harrison this Tuesday -- a wine tasting to music.
The George Harrison wine pairing, as they're calling it, takes place Tuesday on the 10th anniversary of his death. It will feature seven different "flights" with wines paired to three Harrison songs each round. Recorded music will be played through the winery's sound system to accompany the tasting.
Notes at each table will tell why the winery feels each wine flight goes with the particular set of songs it’s paired with, allowing those attending to reflect on his work through each wine. The songs will be mostly a mixture of music by the Beatles and Harrison, but there will also be Harrison-associated songs from the Traveling Wilburys, Cream and Ringo Starr.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Cost is $25. The winery is located at 155 Varick Street (between Spring and Vandam Streets) in New York City. Their website is citywinery.com.
